How it works

01

Choose a direction

PDF to Excel reads text positions; Excel to PDF reads a spreadsheet.

02

Drop in your file

Rows and columns are worked out from spacing, or read straight from your sheet.

03

Download the result

An .xlsx workbook with one sheet per page, or a formatted PDF.

Frequently asked

How accurate is PDF to Excel at detecting columns?

It looks at the horizontal spacing between text on each line to guess column breaks, which works well for genuinely tabular PDFs like invoices or reports, but plain paragraph text won't split into meaningful columns.

Can this read scanned PDFs?

No — it reads the text layer already inside the PDF, so a PDF that's just a scanned image with no embedded text won't produce usable data.

Does Excel to PDF keep my formulas?

Formula results are included since the tool reads calculated values, but the formulas themselves aren't shown — the PDF is a static, printable table.
